How to test your reaction time

Click the test area to begin. It turns red while you wait for a random interval of two to five seconds. When it turns green and says “Click now!”, click once. Your result is shown in milliseconds: a lower number means a faster response.

Click again when you are ready for the next round. Clicking before green does not count; retry that round. You can also tap on a touchscreen or use Space or Enter while the test area is focused. Switching tabs or leaving the window interrupts the current round so it does not affect your average.

    Understand your results

Your average uses all five valid rounds. Best round is your fastest response in that session. Personal best stores your lowest completed five-round average in this browser. Clearing site data removes it; records do not sync across devices.

Reaction time versus aim hit time

This test measures your response to a visual change at a known location. The 3D FPS aim trainer also requires finding a target and moving your crosshair, so its Hit Time is a different measurement.

    Keep comparisons fair

Display refresh rate, mouse or touchscreen latency, browser load and your input method can affect the result. Use the same device and input method when comparing sessions. Rest your hand, avoid guessing the delay, and take breaks. This is a casual practice tool, not a medical test or a prediction of performance in a match.
